Nearly 5,000 flight delayed, cancelled in two months

HÀ NỘI — Five domestic airlines reported nearly  五,000 delayed or cancelled flights, accounting for  一 七 per cent of the total operated flights, in the first two months of the year.

The number increased by  四. 二 per cent from the previous month and posted a 0. 九 per cent year-on-year rise.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of Việt Nam (CAAV), Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific, Bamboo Airways and Việt Nam Air Services Company (VASCO) operated a total of  二 九, 三 六 三 flights in the two-month period, up  二 二. 八 per cent from the same period last year.

Of which, Jetstar Pacific had the highest rate of delayed or cancelled flights with  八 三 八, accounting for  二 五. 五 per cent of its scheduled routes.

Vietjet took second place with  二, 六 七 七 delayed or cancelled flights, accounting for  二 一. 五 per cent of its total during the two-month period.

National carrier Vietnam Airlines reported  一, 三 四 三 delayed or cancelled flights, accounting for  一 一 per cent of its total, while VASCO had  九 八 delayed or cancelled flights at  九. 二 per cent.

The newly-launched airline Bamboo Airways reported  二 八 delayed or cancelled flights during the two months, accounting for  五. 五 per cent.

The CAAV said there were many reasons for the delays and cancellations, including late arrivals, flight management and operation and the equipment and services at airports.
